FDLE opens investigation into controversial Central Florida Senate election

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said Monday it has opened an investigation into a high-profile state Senate race won last year by Republican Sen. Jason Brodeur of Sanford.

Federal investigators in June subpoenaed MAGA Advisory Services, one of the companies run by politically connected allies of former Seminole County Tax Collector Joel Greenberg that got contracts from Greenberg’s office. The subpoena seeks records related to any work the company did for its $2,500-a-month contract from Greenberg.

A representative for MAGA Advisory Services confirmed the subpoena in a letter in response to a public-records request made by the Florida Center for Government Accountability, a nonprofit watchdog group.
